Jonna Richardson

Life is difficult. From time to time it can feel unbearable and overwhelming – but if you’re reading this, you probably know that already.

My name is Jonna. I bring to my practice not just my training but a deep understanding that life can be genuinely hard.

As an integrative therapist, I don’t follow a single fixed model but draw on a range of therapeutic approaches — tailoring the work to the individual in front of me rather than fitting the person to the method. My approach is underpinned by the conviction that the quality and depth of the relationship between therapist and client is not just a backdrop to the work — it is the work.

I am trauma-informed, addiction-informed and ADHD-informed in my practice — and not only by training. I am a person in long-term recovery and my understanding of addiction is informed by lived experience as well as 12 Step philosophy. I was also diagnosed with ADHD in mid-life — which brought its own clarity about how differently some of us experience the world and ourselves. During the ’80s & ’90’s, I worked in the music industry and that background gives me a genuine understanding of the stressors and demands that come with working in entertainment. These things are part of who I am and they shape how I sit with people who may be navigating similar terrain.

Confidentiality & ethics

Everything discussed in our sessions is confidential. I adhere to the BACP code of ethics and work within their professional framework — which means you can trust that your privacy and wellbeing are held with the utmost care.

Getting started

For the work to be effective it needs to feel like a good fit. That’s why I offer an initial consultation — a chance for you to share what’s troubling you and to decide, without pressure, whether you’d like to continue. If you do, my commitment is to be caring, curious and compassionate.

Training & qualifications

Diploma in Integrative Counselling, Minster Centre, London — a BACP accredited training known for its rigorous academic standards and experiential approach to learning.
